Bulldog softball team sets their sights on divisionals at the close of a hard season
After this week’s match-ups against the Glendive Red Devils and the Butte Bulldogs, Hardin prepares for divisionals. Despite their sixth place rank, the Lady Bulldogs continue in their efforts to pull a productive season out of their hats.
“This season has been a hard one with our losing outcomes,” said Head Coach Megan Torske. “We are working on getting rid of the one bad inning we have been struggling with defensively.”
Last Thursday’s game against Glendive ended in a 19-0 loss for the Lady Bulldogs in six innings. Despite an average number of hits for Hardin, Glendive’s two home runs and 17 RBI’s kept a Hardin victory out of reach.
Glendive scored at least one and up to seven RBI’s per inning with the exception of the seventh inning when the game was ended due to the contrasting score.
Saturday’s game versus Butte, which was the last game before divisionals, ended in an 8-3 Hardin loss. RBI’s were scored Kourtney Chavez, Ashley Uffelman and Alex Bush.
“Our bats are getting hot here the past two weeks and we have nowhere to go but up,” Torske said. “The team is looking ahead, to enjoy and play the game they love these last weeks of the season.”
Divisionals will take place Thursday and Friday, May 19-20 at Billings Central.
