The Hardin Bulldog basketball team had another away game this Saturday with the Billings Central Rams but – unlike their Jan. 6 meeting, where they won 97-87 in triple overtime – this match would not go as well.
The Bulldogs suffered their first defeat of the season against the Rams in a game that went into double overtime and was decided by just 3 points: 78-81.
They were down in the first half – 11-13 in the first quarter and 16-21 in the second – yet they managed to finish with a second-half score of 40-33. They tied 67-67 overall by the end of the fourth quarter.
Once overtime began, Billings Central managed to pull ahead 8-5 in the second rendition, thereby cementing their victory.
Sophomore Famous Lefthand was the top shooter for the Bulldogs, scoring 19 points, followed by sophomore Trae Hugs and junior Andrew House with 15 points each.
The Bulldogs will be playing a home game against the Lodge Grass Indians on Thursday.
