New Medicare cards set to be mailed out between April 2018 and April 2019

Senior Center News
New Medicare Cards will be mailed between April 2018 and April 2019. The new Medicare number will not be tied to anyone’s Social Security number. There is no charge for new cards and Medicare will never call for information. Scammers are calling and claiming to be from Medicare. They have various lines such as they must confirm the Medicare number before sending a new card. Medicare will not call.
People will continue to try and steal your new Medicare number, but they’ll never be able to steal your full identity with it again. Always read your Medicare summary notice to make sure no one is billing for services in your name.
If you receive a similar call or are suspicious, hang up and call your local Montana Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) at the Area II Agency on Aging office in Roundup at 1-800-551-3191.
The Fun For You Day was held the afternoon of Jan. 31 at the Hardin Senior Center. Hostess Shirley Margheim gathered the group to play games and served a homemade dessert. The Fun For You Day as well as the bingo at the senior center is sponsored by Little Horn State Bank.
4-H Ambassador Nicole Green paid a visit to the senior center, inviting veterans to a pancake feed from 4-7 p.m. on Feb. 17 at the Big Horn County Fairgrounds. She met Bob Wagnitz, one of the elder World War II veterans, while here. All others are welcome as well. Veterans eat free.
Activities coming up include the Seniors Association meeting at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, entertainment by Al and Jerry Sargent on Tuesday, Feb. 13 and a movie the afternoon of Valentine’s Day.
The February birthday dinner is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 21. Call us at (406) 665-2581 for reservations.
AARP will not be at the Hardin Senior Center this tax season. Sorry for the inconvenience, however, appointments can be made in Billings. Call (406) 794-0083.
The senior center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. We offer transportation, congregate meals and home-delivered meals.
It is important for Seniors Association members to attend the monthly meeting on the second Friday of the month. Elections cannot be held without a quorum and we’d appreciate your input for activities at the senior center.
