Seniors remember Wes Eben, ‘a great friend to many’

Senior Center News
Our sympathy and prayers are sent to Wes Eben’s family following his passing. Wes was a great friend to many in Hardin and a joy to be around. Wes and wife Barb were a devoted couple and were always very proud of their three excellent children.

This week was the birthday dinner at the Hardin Senior Center. Birthday guests included Leroy Link, Jack Wiechman, Ardell Anderson, Ruth Barnes, Linda Boggio, Hazel Zier and Lance Pedersen. Hostess Elaine Malensek provided each guest with a little something special to have as a small gift.

The band of Jerry Metcalf and Jessy Espinoza played some good music for us during dinner.

A 50-50 raffle was held and birthday girl Hazel Zier was the winner. She donated $40 back to the Seniors Association.

Shirley and Cliff Groombridge donated the birthday cake. It was made and decorated at the IGA bakery in Hardin.

First Interstate Bank sponsors the birthday meal at the Hardin and Lodge Grass Senior Centers. Eloy of First Interstate helped serve the meal to our guests.

Other volunteers who were extremely appreciated include Dixie Warren, Elaine Malensek and Etta Kollekowski. We had a staff shortage and these super nice ladies pitched right in to help us.

Jean Kern gave a donation to the Council on Aging.

Holly Jay, MSU Extension agent, is offering a Better Living Class from Oct. 30 to Dec. 21 in the Extension Office building, next door to us at 317 N. Custer.
