Donnie Stephan LaForge

Donnie Stephan LaForge, 18, of Crow Agency, passed away tragically Dec. 13, 2017.
 
He was born Nov. 4, 1999 in Juneau, Alaska, a son of Pearl L. LaForge and Delbert White Clay. He was adopted and raised by his aunt, the late Donita LaForge. He was given his Indian name, “Iitche Baaxpe” (Sacred Staff) by Oliver Costa. 
 
In early years, Donnie attended Crow Agency Public School and later received his high school diploma from Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, Okla. on Nov. 10, 2017.
 
Donnie was a member of the Big Lodge Clan and a child of the Big Lodge Clan. He had plans to attend college or Job Corps in January. He loved to socialize with his family and friends, becoming friends to everyone he met.
 
His mother Donita M. LaForge, and uncles Donnie W. and Stephan P. LaForge proceeded Donnie in death.
 
Survivors include his mother Pearl LaForge; father Delbert White Clay; sisters Larnita, Jerilyn and LaShawnda; brother Jaren; adopted mother Amber Wilson; adopted brother Brand Wilson of Anadarko, Okla.; grandmothers Darlene, Donna, Noreen and Wilma Backbone, Arlene (Robert) Fitch, Nadine (Byron) Dawes, Patsy Yellowtail, Rachel (Joe) Wallace, Clara (Julian) Joe, Lavina Passes, Beldean Bird in Ground, Patricia Maxwell, Kathrine (Benito) Morrison, Shirley Stewart, Veronica and Rebecca White Clay, Rachel Beatty, Ardith (Clifford) Bird in Ground, Faith (Bruce) Iron and Cloe (Bobby) Kindness; grandfathers Wayne and Michael LaForge, Frank (Calley) Backbone Jr., Shawn (DyAnna) Backbone Sr., Marlon (Debbie) Passes, Tyrone, Tommy (Cheryl) and Hugo White Clay; and extended family including the Backbone, Bear Below, Left Hand, Old Crow, Bird, Not Afraid, Jefferson, Pretty On Top, Buffalo, Knows Gun, Sees the Ground, Medicine Tail, Real Bird, Moccasin, Anderson, Big Day, LaForge, Dawes, Stray Calf, Walks, Stewart, Gardner and White Clay, Packineau, Perkins, Fredrick, Defenders, Chargings and Hall families.
 
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday in the Crow Community Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Crow Agency Cemetery. 
 
Bullis Mortuary was entrusted with the arrangements.
