Gary Lee Forsythe, 63, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017 at his home in Billings. He was born July 28, 1954 in Springfield, Ill., the son of Richard and Audrey Forsythe.
Gary was a United States Navy veteran. After the Navy, he worked for his dad at the Forsythe Air Conditioning Company. On New Year’s Eve in 1980, his daughter was born. After that, he started his life in sales. During this time in August of 1990, his son was born. A few years later, he married Lori Harder. He continued in sales and management at various places until 2008, when he and his wife bought a restaurant in Hardin, which they still have to this day.
Gary was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed reading history and western novels. He also enjoyed sharing his many stories of his time in the Navy. Gary was a definite man’s man. He was a great friend, husband and a very loving father. He will be loved, missed and remembered forever.
Gary is survived by his wife Lori, daughter Misty and grandson Parker, son Cody, step-children Justin and Michelle Puerner, sister Becky Tuck, step-grandchildren Easton and Stetson, and nieces and nephews.
Burial of ashes with military honors will be held at the Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 13. Reception to follow at the Lariat Country Kitchen in Hardin from 2-4 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of Dahl Funeral Chapel and memories may be shared at www.dahlfuneralchapel.com.
