Phyllis Louise Flack Wait, 73, of Campo, Colo. passed away on Feb. 25, 2017 at Springfield Hospital of natural causes. She was the beloved wife of Ernest Wait.
Phyllis was born in Sheridan, Wyo. on Aug. 22, 1943 and grew up in Hardin. She was the daughter of Philip and Dorothy Flack. She was married to Ivan Abell for 22 years and had three children. She later married Ernest Wait and would have celebrated 31 years of marriage on Feb. 26.
Phyllis was a high school graduate and worked many jobs including managing Ivan’s plumbing shop and doing taxes for years. She then spent decades traveling with the family custom harvesting business. Phyllis loved to snowmobile, fish, grow asparagus and hunt for mushrooms in the earlier years, and later enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved making her home a showpiece of her own style. She also loved to dance, especially with her brother.
She was preceded in death by her grandson Matthew Thayne, granddaughter Stephanie Abell, her brother Richard (Loretta) Flack, mother Dorothy (Ben) Hamburg and father Philip (Polly) Flack.
She leaves behind Ernest Wait, Julie Abell, Randy (Aleisa) Abell, Roger (Rhonda) Abell, Debbie (Rick) Mask, Derek (Krystal) Wait, Denny Wait, Darla (Kevin) Russell, Cletha (Roger) Wolfe, her best friend Jackie Roberts and many, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Phyllis’s life is being held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 4. The potluck dinner will be at the Pirate’s Cove in Pritchett, Colo.
Another celebration will be held in Montana at a later date to be determined.
